Bartow, FL, May 17, 2012 –  Prince was announced as the apparent low bidder for the Florida Department of Transportation’s (FDOT) Design-Build I-75 (SR 93) Airport Access at Southwest Florida International Airport (SWFIA) Collector-Distributor (C-D) System Project in Fort Myers, Florida.  Prince and its design partner, C3TS, were one of three design-build teams shortlisted for the project.  Prince and C3TS competed against The De Moya Group partnered with BCC Engineering, and The Lane Construction Corporation paired with The HNTB Corporation.

The 795-day, $54.1 million project will provide a new direct connection from I-75 to the Mid-Field Terminal facilities of the Southwest Florida International Airport (SWFIA). The project’s scope includes the construction of five bridges, seven miles of northbound & southbound collector/distributor (CD) roads alongside I-75, and a new Terminal Access Road (TAR) interchange over I-75.  The CD roads will combine the interchanges for Alico Road and the new SWFIA TAR into a single point of entry/exit from the interstate.

The Prince/C3TS design-build team will be performing this project for District One of the FDOT.  This same Design-Build team successfully completed the SR 50 widening design-build project from West of Avalon Road to SR 429 (Western Beltway) in Winter Garden, Florida in December 2011.  The Prince/C3TS team was awarded that project in October 2009 and will use their Design-Build experience to make this project equally as successful.
